Default Does anybody run tire chains?

Was wondering if anybody runs tires chains. We just got done with another ice event that left it nearly impossible to get around let alone plow after. My normal accounts aren't really a problem but I see to be getting more and more calls for salt and grit for places we don't normally service.

It seems like we get at least one good ice event a year if not more and we have already had one so I am thinking we will get another.

What issues do I need to be aware of?

Any recommendations for chains or place to purchase.

tirechain.com is a great source for chains. Just got my 3rd set from them this week.

I will get my next set from them.

V-bar chains dig better, and will last mulch longer if you drive on the asphalt with them.

Put them on, tight as you can get. Drive a bit, tighten. The new cam locks look helpful, but still use plenty of the heavy rubber bungee cords. Once you have them fitted to your tires, cut off any dangling pieces.

You will LOVE plowing with them.

"After this last incident I ordered a couple sets of the V-bar strap on emergency chains from tirechain.com. Once I was stuck there was no getting chains on that side. Hopefully I don't need them but I'll have them now. How are the heavy duty square link ones that you posted Sno? Hold up good with the heavy truck?"

great, but i haven't had to use them mulch.

Used them one time in the last 3 years, and then I used them to go threw a swamp hauling in fire wood.
